It was foul weather, so the only photograph I took was of the previously photographed central staircase.
Mr A had to give me a lift to Duddingston this morning, where I had my long awaited podiatry appointment. It would appear that the pain stems from biomechinal problems, and I've had a heel insert added to the bottom of my orthotic for the right foot. It didn't help much today, as I've still been experiencing a fair amount of pain, but it should gradually take the pressure off the bits that have got sore and tired, and they can hopefully recover. The core of the problem lies in my misshapen right knee, which pulls my foot the wrong way and makes my leg shorter. I struggle to put my heel on the ground. Hopefully with the insert in I will manage that, and it will help over time. I'm going back in 5 weeks. It was good to hear it was not a neurological problem as in a way they are harder to fix.
At work I went to a staff seminar and then to another seminar followed by a dinner with colleagues with a visiting speaker. I walked part of the way home, and got the bus part of the way. That was a sign that things were better.
