Different

There's a lot wrong with this photo. In fact it's pretty terrible but I still like it.
It's Matt the juggler, juggling with fire on Barnstaple High street among the late-night Christmas shoppers. I was surprised at just how close people walking by got to him.
I have a better picture of the ceiling of the Panier market or the lights on Gammon Walk but I still like this. It's not every day you see a flame-thrower. Tess wondered if he practises in his own house...

I spent the earlier part of the day washing, taking delivery of the weekly groceries and putting them away, and wrapping presents and getting everything sorted that needed sending to the relatives that we won't be seeing over Christmas.
After school we took Tess into town so she could experience the Christmas lights in the dark and buy a couple of little presents. We went to the Panier market to listen to some Christmas tunes being played by West Buckland school and walked through Green Lanes where a primary school were singing We Three Kings and, further along, a young woman with a really beautiful voice was singing the less Christmassy theme from Titanic (which, unfortunately, I absolutely hate).

It was good to do something different after school and in the cold, crisp weather too.
