Life through a lens ball

A good friend bought me an Amazon voucher for my birthday and instead of buying more books, I decided to get myself a lens ball. I've seen some beautiful photos using them and even though I might never quite master the technique, the crystal ball will still look lovely on my book case.

Had feedback on a job I had applied for today and they are putting my CV forward when the two bosses are back in the country. The only slightly odd moment was when the recruiter said that the employer asked it be known that the company is run by a family with Asian heritage. I'm not sure why they felt the need to raise it but it made me quite sad that they felt potential employees should know in advance.
