Darling wine shop
Not many photos today. First thing, we dropped our laundry off, then drove to Darling, where we had arranged to meet an ex-colleague and long standing friend of W for lunch. We arrived early, and first visited Evita se Perron for a cup of tea.
Then a wander down Main Street, where we had seen the magic words "local gin". The owner of The Darling Wine Shop was really helpful and friendly. We were able to taste the local gin, called Darlington Gin, and bought 2 bottles - one for drinking whilst we are here, the other packaged in a sturdy cardboard tube to take home to the UK.
Then lunch, which was really tasty. W enjoyed renewing his friendship with J & J, and I was pleased to meet such old friends. We chatted till about 3pm.
Then back to pick up our laundry and do some food shopping. When we got back to our lodgings, our host encouraged me to have a swim. She also generously brought us a bottle of local wine to accompany our salad and cheese light meal this evening.
