A good alternative for tea. And chat.

Met up with an ex colleague, about to retire at the end of the month. He was in my last team, and was around for most of my thirty odd years. We’d a walk and a chat, then headed indoors for tea just as the rain came on. He always liked tea, it featured in many a meeting with him over the years! The place we originally went to was only open Wednesday to Sunday in winter (and today’s Tuesday!) - so we headed here. With hindsight this venue was better, my friend has specific hearing needs and I can’t do busy and noisy places. It was busy by the time we left, so our timing was right. I’ll keep it in mind for another day.
