Red Pump Garage
A brisk walk down to Great Missenden, with a coffee at Matilda's and buying some birthday cards.
On the way along the High Street, the Red Pump Garage, that proudly says that it stopped selling petrol when 8 gallons cost £1 - that's £0.0322 a litre. Petrol hasn't cost that since 1950, the year I was born. In 1967, when I started driving the Morris, it had risen to just over 4 gallons for a £1 - 4/11d a gallon.
Gone up a bit since then!
