It is Grim.....

This dry spell is very worrying. The situation is grim indeed. We are virtually living in drought conditions. Every day from dawn to dusk big articulated water tankers are pulling up to water hydrants on the edge of town to fill up with water. The drivers are taking their full tankers to various vineyards that are desperate for water. Their precious loads are saving the water-starved vines. A number of these vineyards are up the Wairau Valley to the west of Blenheim where conditions are even drier than around Blenheim.
