Getting Serious

I have been wanting to get a real pair of walking boots for a long time. I love to walk and many times I need something much sturdier and better for my feet than wellies (winter) or Birkenstocks (summer). I want to get more serious about walking so I needed a ‘serious’ pair of boots. Well, serious to me, anyway. I was given two gift cards for Go Outdoors at Christmas, and I FINALLY went to pick out a pair. These seemed to be the most comfortable AND they weren’t the most expensive! So I hope they will serve me well and won’t need much breaking in!

In other news - I helped out with an event at my church this evening. The Roots of Jazz is a band and an event I’ve seen twice before (here and here). Through the music they explore the intertwining stories of the roots of Jazz and the Christian faith, as well as playing jazz just for the fun of it. The whole event is excellent and so I encouraged my church to invite them and today was the day. It was a sell-out event with standing room only. They only perform once a month, because they all have other jobs, so if you get a chance to go see them, I highly recommend!
