The ghost of Ty Bach.
A terrible day weather wise and as we OAMs (see yesterdays blip for translation) all had long journeys we decided to just "socialise" rather than go for a walk. Between the down pours I nipped out to take some shots round the centre. I visited the ancient longhouse (the original steading) took shots of the farmhouse (now the centre) an interesting ancient and modern fence and finally the ghost of Ty Bach.
50+ years ago Ty Bach, which I am told means little house, was an outside toilet. Clearly this wasn't acceptable in modern times. For reasons which escape me, rather, than convert it into a useful store it was dismantled. All that remains of the nicely built slate building is this little gate where the door used to be.
Eventually it was time to go our separate ways. Phil and I drove in convoy to Betws-y-coed where he would turn south and I north. Before that we had a wander round in the rain followed by coffee and a scone. I was amazed to see more Magnolias and Camelias in full flower. I had seen some the day before but assumed that was a very good micro climate. It would seem not.
