Ellis in lithophane

One of my coworkers had pointed me towards lithophanes as a fun thing to do with a 3D printer. During my lunch break, I went out to get the white filament I needed to give that a go. Here’s my first result: an image of my daughter Ellis, converted to a lithophane. With some backlight, the original image comes out quite nicely. This is just a small print to give it a try. With a bigger print, printed on the highest quality, the image would look a lot better. That will take 16 hours to print with my printer, though...

The original image was blipped back in 2017.
