Between fen and mountains

Sparrow hawk

The garden is usually home only to sparrows, blackbirds and pigeons but today a sparrow hawk was sitting on a bush by the shed.  It had killed a pigeon and concealed it in a bush.  When I tried to sneak up on it, the bird flew down to the end of the garden with its prey and continued to consume its dinner. Citizens Advice was not particularly busy but I still returned with the usual headache.  I am now thinking that the stuffy heating, the computers and the strong office lighting are to blame.  I completed the holiday booking for Kerala which will not be till next year so that will be something pleasant to anticipate.
