My thoughts :
A work of fiction, based on a true family history. The true facts mixed with some romanticised facts to combine it into a smooth story. I read it in one go, couldn't put it down. I was intrigued both by the events in the family as with reading about the first years of daily life in communist Romania after the war.

Five out of five stars.
