The wedding bouquet?
When I saw this fruiting lichen on a tree on Gold Island this morning, I thought of a wedding bouquet. The trees are mainly grey/brown at the moment, but many are dripping with lichen.
Mum was well enough to leave while I went for a short walk. We both agree that her knee is slightly less swollen than yesterday.
I was pleased that the water was low enough for me to cross to the island. The snowdrops are going over, but are still lovely. Celandine is peeping out in the sun. The catkins are gorgeous and the light on the river was good too. (See extra.)
We expected heavy rain this afternoon, but it came late and is not too bad. There may be more stormy weather tomorrow.
Margret (next door) came with some storm damaged daffs. They are now happy in a vase. Liesbeth came to see Mum. Margaret (across the road) came. She had brought three grandchildren to see us yesterday and had left flowers on our front step. We caught up on everyone's news.
It's a much easier day than yesterday.
Tomorrow the loss adjuster comes to see the water damage from the leaky dishwasher.
