Thatched Cottages

There was a terrible fire in Cottered some weeks back. The thatched roof caught light somehow and both semi-detached cottages were burnt out. I don’t think anyone was hurt, but the damage was serious. Not much remained of either cottage apart from the walls and the chimney stack. It seems that one side is insured and the other perhaps not. Such a shame.
