Gouda

We took a short train-trip to Gouda today.  We went into the Waag - or the 'Weighing House;.  This monumental Weighing House, dating from 1669, is the pride of the town. An exhibit inside tells the story of cheese using interactive audio-visual media. You get to know all about the manufacturing process, from grass through cow through milk to cheese, and have a chance to taste the finished product. The museum explains the importance of Gouda as a centre of Dutch dairy production.
