Gin Soaked Boy

Out for a gin tasting this evening. There were 6 gins all made by a new gin startup. We had to taste them neat and with tonic and then make notes on their taste.

I think the thing that came out of it was that I have very poor taste buds. Other people were getting cucumber, lemongrass, pepper, nutmeg... I was getting gin, gin and gin with hints of gin. What I did find out was that neat gin by the teaspoon full is actually very nice.

We popped up to the brewery to sort some arrangements for the upcoming ‘Rockaoke’ gig. It’s all in aid of meningitis now so we are charging per song. The brewery thought £25, we thought that was a bit steep so we are trying £5, although we might let people bid if a song is popular. More importantly they have a new amber ale which is excellent.

Back to Gemma and Jason’s for another drink then home. An excellent evening.
