Miniature landscape
in the Painted Desert near Bear Spring. The bush is no more than two feet high and the rocks, a few feet behind, are no more than waist high . . .
I was with fifteen others on a guided seven mile circular hike to Bear Spring. Because of the recent snows it was quite a slog through sticky mud. I've spent the last couple of hours staring at snaps deciding which to post here and which to dump into an album on Flickr (sorry for the duplicates but I've been having problems since updating Windows). Extra shows Pilot Rock which marks the northern boundary of Petrified Forest National Park.
