Frozen in a footprint

The snow is so crusty and it's been so cold that we can walk on top of the approximately 8 inches of snow that we still have at our place. This leaf got trapped in a footprint while we were still sinking in the snow a bit.
We weren't the only ones out enjoying the sunshine today (extra). A cold wind but so refreshing. I so love being outside in almost any weather, but today was a treat. 
The patches of sun on snow looked lovely this morning. Faffed a bit with a shot I took early this morning.
