Mind the bollards!
Just back home after taking part in the 5k Memory Walk to support those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, and their families too.
The walk was round Salford Quays which looks beautiful at night when it's all lit up. My friend, and fellow blipper, unfortunately walked into a bollard as she was busy looking at the swans. I shouldn't have laughed because karma got her own back when I did the exact same thing a bit further down the course! So far, we've raised just under £600 :).
I've done a few sponsored events and always wear my lucky unicorn hat. It always tends to generate lots of comments and I may have a new crochet/knit club member after someone was asking me about it.
It was a cold night, wet and blustery at times, but a small price to pay when you think of those that have to face such a diagnosis.
My friends are used to me disappearing to take a quick photo and the orange poster I spotted was no exception (which is my quote for today).
