Persistence pays off!!

The tablets that were recommended after my gastroscopy at the end of January have been dispensed at long last!!

After patiently (not so patiently ...if I’m honest) and painfully waiting for 4 weeks in limbo and having had another really bad night, I rang the hospital on Wednesday and spoke to the consultant’s secretary.....

Long story which I won’t bore you with....

Outcome......my GP will have to refer me in as a new patient as a formality.. it will take months to get an appointment. ...unlikely to be seen before a long awaited trip in May.

I had visions of the holiday disappearing into the mists of time, until a phone call yesterday from the sec to say that she had spoken to the consultant and my tablets would be ready for collection today. Common sense prevails :0)

I still feel for anyone in the same position as me, but who has difficulty in navigating the NHS system.

Other positives are ...we have delivered B’s Christmas present to the picture framer and I have started working on my box, just waiting for the paste to dry!!!
