Merry Christmas to Me

For the last month, the period key on my keyboard at the office didn't work - I was using the decimal key on my number pad as a stand-in. Today I mentioned this to a coworker, in passing, and a few minutes later she said, "I told my friend in IT you needed a new keyboard; he says it's ready for pickup now."

I am SO EXCITED to be able to type periods normally again! It's one of those things you don't miss til it's gone, I suppose. And of course I knew I could get a new keyboard, but I don't know anyone in IT personally and didn't want to initiate the whole bloated requisition process over ONE key.

We also had our last-ever departmental Christmas breakfast this morning, which was fun, if bittersweet.

I'm gonna miss my coworkers as the scheduled layoffs start taking them away :(
