Another sign of spring

Yesterday I had a wide lens on my camera so when I saw a bird with twigs in its mouth I didn't even try. The bird would have to hover in my face to make that shot work. 

I did ask my boss on Monday if he had advice for a new photographer. For birds he sets shutter speed at 1/2000 and sets ISO but lets aperture be automatic.
