Sitting by the Bay

Waking up in Sydney! So much to rush about seeing - like the Bridge and Opera House (I’ve no idea why) obviously but also some of the other areas like Pyrmont - home to the Maritime Museum! What great stuff - the actual ballast jettisoned by Cook in an effort to refloat the Endeavour and recently rediscovered! Yes, I know!
Onward to the Rocks area to see the old houses and shops selling much twee knicknackery. A decent wee lunch outside a pub though.
After a rest up, it was out again - on the F1 ferry down to Manly - about 8 miles. A glorious evening sitting out right at the front. How the skipper threaded his way trough the dozens of racing yachts, I dunno. And at Manly we sat on the wharf and watched the sun go down before wandering across to the east side with its long surfing beach. An eat in the Manly Pantry which was wonderful - windows open to the sea and great seafood - my first oysters for a few years. And a barramundi. Which is a fish, though it sounds like a marsupial.
So, back down the dark harbour till we got to the bright lights of the city, which was something to behold coming into the wharves. Surely another top fifty experience.
