Crazy
Oh gosh. That was quite a day.
Not a bad one. Just crazy, chaotic, and busy.
Probably the best bit was seeing the local weekly newspaper this morning, and finding the story our budding Spin Doctor gave them the other day. They ran it when we didn’t expect them to. The end result was very good indeed. She was thrilled. I was thrilled for her.
R (and several colleagues I know) have managed to escape the Vilnius winter for a conference in Barcelona, which has meant I’ve been bombarded with selfies of Lithuanians revelling in 20⁰c sunshine beside the Med. Thanks, ladies.
It has brought back memories. My last visit to Barcelona in the 90s. Airport, taxi, hotel, meeting, taxi, airport.
My first visit in 1973, when it was still a fascist dictatorship under Franco.
The evening has been spent trying to stay awake until bedtime. This clip reminded me we have a Foreign Minister who doesn’t know the difference between Slovakia and Slovenia.
Slovensko
Of course he didn’t write that speech. An idiot staffer did. Then the idiot staffer’s idiot boss checked it. All of which makes it worse, because on top of his ignorance of basic geography and history, he employs idiots. What is worse still is the thought that they may have run it past the embassy in Ljubljana first…
