Uttershill Castle (remains of)

A quiet morning as its incredibly windy out there. I spend the morning back blipping.

In the afternoon, I decide to try and get a better shot of Uttershill Castle, as well as making the most of my last day of holiday. I get the bus to Penicuik. The castle is not far from the centre and the walk up the hill is not as bad as it seems when on a bike cycling in to the wind.

There are nice views across Glen Esk and Penicuik. The main blip shows the castle at its location, and Extra1, the view of the castle from Pomathorn Rd. While the castle seems to be on top of a hill, it isn't, it just on a promontory. Extra 2 shows an old town sign of Penicuik, The Papermaking Town.

Then it's back on the bus to head in to Morningside for afternoon coffee. A nice way to spend a Friday off work.
