Street scenes
My camera club is running a project to capture 24 hours in the neighbourhood, and I've been allocated 8pm - 10pm. I've never done this type of photography before, so I dug out my tripod and got some technical tips, and then ventured out onto the streets, feeling very nervous but with my daughter for moral support. Within a minute, just as I was testing the light, a slightly tipsy trio wearing black started chatting and asked me to take their photos. Then a couple of women appeared, and it turned out they had all been at a funeral of an old lady who had lived round the corner. I thought I had my subject for the project, but when I got home I realised the camera was set to manual focus and they were all blurry!!
Instead this is one of the shots I had in mind, not very sharp but at least I can go out and try again another night, and not be too worried about taking photos of strangers. Of course this being Glasgow, no-one is really a stranger for long...
