A short afternoon walk to try my new shoes out. It's been dull all day and started to rain before I got home. I thought I might find lambs but instead the fields were empty. I hadn't noticed the dip in this barn roof before. The wheels have been there for years. 

I decided yesterday that the shoes which got wet and dirty in the bog a few days ago were destined for the bin. They were already in their final stages.

I considered mail order but thought a trip into Kendal to try some on would make more sense. So, off to one of my favourite independent shops at the other end of town and the usual helpful sales staff. I'd already narrowed the choice down from the website so it didn't take long to make the purchase.
