The Gaffer

Did an immense amount of shelf/book/filing cabinet sorting and shoogling - amongst the many things I found was a collapsing box of antique vinyl albums, which I naturally repaired with gaffer tape. I only discovered later that the inventor, Ross Lowell, had died last month, at the age of 93. I hadn't previously been aware of his name.

Before someone mentions duct tape, that was apparently an earlier invention; Mr Lowell changed the specs to make gaffer tape non-reflective and cleanly removable. An essential item for working musicians (and film crews) everywhere.
