Michelin Star

My Blip is an old photo of Bar Chato....
El Xato, in Valenciano....
a family run bar/ restaurant in the small inland town of La Nucia......about six kilometres from our home.
It looks like any typical Spanish bar in any typical Spanish village
However, in November, the chef...Cristina....was awarded a Michelin Star for her creative cooking, using local seasonal produce from Alicante Province.
Cristina said she was taught to cook by her mother in law, who still works in the bar.
Cristina’s husband looks after the wines and the bar. They are the fourth generation of the family to run the bar....their daughter is now a teenager....perhaps the fifth generation in waiting!
