At the bottom of the pond.

Only last week, after lots of digging, we installed a pond in our garden and filled it with water. The instructions are then to leave it for a week to settle. The only thing we did was to put a few oxygenating plants in, to keep the water from going too green. Therefore, imagine our surprise today when we found that, already, a fair sized common toad had taken up residence at the bottom of the pond.
