shake it up...

... now gleaming after elbow grease, a soft cloth and multiple applications of Silvo.
My folks bought this cocktail shaker in the 1950s and substantial it is 'the outer  body pierced with slots which revolves to reveal various cocktail recipes'.
These were the bees knees and called a 'Tell Me How' Shaker with all the classics including the Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Whisky Sour and Gin Rickey.

Not for the feint hearted shaker as they weigh a bit, I found its twin in an old Bonham's Auction Catalogue listed under 'English and Continental  and Objects of Vertu'.
How cool is that...an object of vertu!
