First time......

....for everything.,  I almost called this "Like a Virgin", but thought it not really appropriate. 

It was, however, the very first time I have ever publicly protested against anything in my entire life.  Me and about 499 others.

There is this private walking company, based in Tasmania, who has put in a proposal to our Government that they build a permanent luxury "lodge" in virgin wilderness in one of our National Parks on Kangaroo Island.  Flinders Chase actually.  It's nothing short of criminal.  National Parks are supposed to be protected against development of any sort, not exploited.  In addition to this lodge they want to build x number of kilometers of roads to get in there. 

This is virgin bush they are talking about.  A haven for coastal habitats.  A fragile dune ecosystem - just think it's not only the road, but the heavy machinery they would have to bring in to build the wretched thing.  It really doesn't bear thinking about. 

In my extras, there is a picture of what they want to desecrate.  Look carefully, you may not see it this way again.  However... on the plus side there is talk of a court action if this development is given the green light.

And it's not as if there aren't already camping sites there.  Of course there are - but discretely located and not permanent structures.  And they are not "luxury" either - that means anyone can afford to go.

Oh, I am cross.
