Centennial Anniversary of the Grand Canyon

I did not know until I arrived that it was the centennial anniversary of Teddy Roosevelt signing the papers to make this "wonder" a state park (Admission was FREE)!  I was in the little house where he signed the papers which is now a small art studio and a gift area.  They don't know where he signed them, just that it was in that building.  There are photos of him riding to the bottom of the canyon on a donkey...can you see DT doing that?!  It was a great day, really pretty out.  My neighbor has a friend visiting from Mexico, hence the trip.  We were to go on Saturday but the roads were closed due to heavy snow.  Phoenix was cold but not for snow, we had a deluge of rain for two days.
