Lag

After a 22 hour flight from Sydney, arrived in Rio last night. Woman who I rented the apartment from went out of her way to be friendly and helpful. I think I'm going to get along with the locals.

Woke up to the sound of rain. Forecast isn't great for next few days but I'm taking a long term view as I'm here for 2 and a half weeks.

Slept most of the day (that's what 13 hours time difference does to you) before doing some exploring and finding a gym with equipment from the 1970s. Something majestic about having the beach so close to the city - something the Olympic Game organisers milked I'm sure!

First impressions count - I love Rio.
