Golden Bug
This insect is, even as I type, crawling up my door frame. It is very intresting because it has a golden head. I have taken this as a sign that money is coming my way!
I have now been informed that this is Anoplognathus pallidicollis a relatively large beetle of the family Scarabaeidae, native to Australia. It grows up to 20 mm in length. Adults are common in the summer months, particularly around Christmas, resulting in the common name of Christmas beetle
