to Awake

The mild weather has resulted in considerable activity with the bees.  They have been flying very freely over the last few days.

Much can be learned about what is going on with the bees without ever having to look inside their hives.  One simply dons the protective clothing and spend a few moments in front of each hive observing.

So here you see worker bees returning to the hive carrying orange pollen.  The collection of pollen is an indicator that the queen bee is laying and the pollen is being used to feed the young larvae.

So all is well with the hives!
