Blowin' in the wind

It has been a gloomy day. The wind has picked up as forecast. We are getting a westerly wind of around 40 mph with gusts to 55. We invited the neighbors to dinner. Hubby went to pick them up as he has had his knee replaced and can not drive. A tree had fallen across the road so hubby had to move it before getting to their house.  Farther along one fell on the wires taking out their power. Around here you never go anywhere with out a chain saw or you may just find yourself trapped. Houses are few and far between. I am thankful we have our whole house generator. Our neighbors will probably be out of power several days after this blow as there are many outages in the area.
The little birds were hunkered down but the wind was still causing them havoc.
