Carn Dearg
The sun rose over the shoulder of Carn Liath to the south east and shone brightly through the velux windows of the bothy. Fuzzy headed with a taste of whisky in my breath after last night's chatter, I clambered out of the sleeping bag and ventured outside. What a morning!
Cloudless sky, not a breath of wind and a light frost still in the shadows of the moor. I couldn't just walk straight back out to the car - I had to use this fantastic weather so packed up and scampered onto the hill to the north of the bothy.
I passed over two Corbetts, both unimaginatively named Carn Dearg (not a red rock in sight) and was back to the car by noon.
This is the view from the lower hill at 768m, looking south west down the unique Glen Roy. I could see hills in Knoydart, Glen Shiel, Affric, Strathfarrar, Mullardoch, Wyvis. The hills on the horizon of my blip are Ben Nevis and neighbours.
Corbett #136 and #137
