Sir Winston & Clementine

Our band we're performing at the Oxford & District Brass Band Contest today prior to which we had a rehearsal at Bladon, the resting place of Sir Winston Churchill, his wife Clementine and other family members. An opportunity too good not to blip.

Now, despite our Musical Director (MD) having a heart attack on Wednesday and having to to enlist the services of a former MD for two rehearsals only, we came third of seven entrants in our section. We're very pleased in the circumstance. We're also extremely happy to hear that our MD is recovering but will need to undergo an operation next week and will be out of action for some time; bearing in mind that CPR and de-fib saved his life that's also a great result.
