Where were you on 12.12.12?
It's Wednesday, so I was out walking with the Haltwhistle Walkers as usual.
Today's walk was from Bardon Mill up and up and more up to Winshields Crags, the highest point on Hadrian's Wall. Some of the group made it to the top in time for 12 minutes after noon on the 12th of the 12th month. When we had all arrived P said a few words about the auspicious moment and I took a group pic.
It was an unusual moment because there was no wind on Windshields Crags - a rare event.
Here the group has set off towards Steel Rigg, walking beside Hadrian's Wall. The light today was amazing. There was snow falling to the north and east of us, so the skies were dark blue. It was also misty. The sun was very welcome on such a cold and icy day.
We agreed that there was nowhere else we would rather be today.
