Blooming in the evening light

This lovely orchid plant was a gift from T's sister last March with two stems of gorgeous blooms. They lasted for a very long time before dropping. Suddenly, last October I saw a new shoot growing from one of the clipped stems. That shoot grew quickly and seven fist sized blooms appeared once again in November. We have been enjoying them every day since. These and all our amaryllis bulbs have carried us nicely through a rather snowless but drab New England winter. These show no sign of withering, but I suppose the day will come soon when they begin to droop and drop. Until then, they continue to enchant.

For the Record,
This day came in rather warm with cloudy skies. A snow to rain event is predicted for tonight and a messy Sunday.

All hands enjoying a quiet evening.
