or perhaps i should say - flower, standing - because that's really the real - truth of the matter

this little bloom has been on - the plant since the beginning of august - it's gone through a lot with me - different locations within one home - then a major catastrophe - with the ceiling collapse where - although it didn't take a direct hit - the damage was great enough - i didn't believe it would survive - thanks to my tenacious brother - cleaning it up proved it had a chance - for a come back

and now, the bloom continues - to defy the odds - hanging stubbornly when no others are left - giving me joy every time i look at it - a constant reminder that i, too, am a survivor - of what happened - i can bloom wherever i am - and again, it will be...
