Car paperwork

The insurance company sent a courier to fetch the paperwork and the car keys.

Unfortunately, it is NOT the end.  It turned out, we do NOT have all the documents - so the saga continues.  It seems, Mom never got the original registration certificate from Halstead & Company, when she bought the car.  We will now have to try and get it from traffic department. I shudder to think, what this is going to take. Remember the car is nearly 35 years old and we are living in Africa.

Of course, this whole project, will have to go on hold.  To get the documents, you have to fill in several forms, pay a fee and produce a valid ID.

At this stage.................. no ID has been issued.

Mom, at 87 years old, has NO FINGERPRINTS.  So they are being "difficult" about issuing a new / replacement ID. 

NOTE : Not only is this making putting our lives back together after the hijacking difficult.  You can DO NOTHING, without an ID.  It is taken a huge psychological toll on Mom.  No ID = no value.
