I've just come back from the cinema. We went to see Instant Family. Good Lord it hit close to the bone. I thought it would be fluffed out but it was a great honest truth about how the road to adoption can be. It was refreshing!

My son looked at me and said, "Are you crying? Why are you crying, stop it." At first I thought urgh why does he not show any emotion but then I realised how great it was that he doesn't connect to these kids, in that way, anymore. He is just a normal teenager getting embarrassed by his mum crying in the cinema. That was a good feeling!

Then we came home to our cat who lay on the floor and started purring. A good reflection of another happy addition to our instant family.
