fire!

First thing I had to bring my plants in from the landing as the stairwell is being painted. One of the plants had to be hacked right back to get it through the door. I hope they all survive the next few days in the middle of the dark flat (the windows all have radiators underneath so not suitable places for plants).

The rest of the day was just as I always imagined my retirement would be like - finished off one book (Architecture of Happiness), went for totter down to the marina where I was uplifted by the beautiful light on the water, the wonderful cloud formations in the sky, the little grebe diving up and down, the redshank bobbing up and down. Came back and started the next book (One to Nine).

Just a bit worried about my freezer which has started whining at odd times and needs the fast freeze turned on. Maybe a defrost is in order, she said optimistically.
