Japanese anemones or wind flowers back lit by the morning sun.
8 years today since the big earthquake hit, that destroyed our city and changed our lives forever. So much to be thankful for, but so much sympathy for those who lost loved ones that day. And for those who still can't move on with their lives as they carry on the fight for their homes with the government agency EQC and the insurance industry.
Every time I hear about floods, tsunami, earthquakes, tornadoes etc now I have so much more understanding, of how those people's lives will be impacted in ways they won't realise in the "heat of the moment", and of the stress of fighting for years to try to live a normal life. The news media move on in a few days, people not involved move on, but the ones left are still dealing years later.
