Alton-Baker Park Canoe Canal Headwaters

Walking with a friend along the Willamette River Trail this afternoon.
We discovered the "headwaters" of the Alton-Baker Park Canoe Canal.
The canal derives its water from an upstream intake that feeds the system.
I've ridden my bicycle past this place for years without realizing its significance as the source of the canal.
