Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2019 Wednesday — Woohoo!

We learned this morning when this photo surfaced on social media that our granddaughter Ashly had secured herself a full time teaching position.

I immediately sent her a text to inquire. I knew at the beginning of this month that she was pretty sure she had a position.

She responded to my text to tell me she had started teaching last Tuesday, February 12th. She said life has been a whirlwind ever since. (I thought it was interesting that I started the spring semester last Tuesday.)

We now have another teacher in the family. I am absolutely delighted.

When Ashly was a pre-schooler back in the early 90s, I used to take her to my classrooms that were filled with college students on the days when “point of view” was our topic. We’d discuss the story of “The Three Little Pigs” from the point of view of the pigs and then from the point of view of the wolf.

Often my students were unsure of the ending of the story. Ashly loved telling them the version of the story she knew.

Now she is 30-years-old, a responsible adult; has s college degree and a teaching credential to teach special education, and she is pregnant with her first baby, which is our fourth great-grandchild.

We are thrilled for her!
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
