Another day, another market...

All go again today. Once everything was fed, loaded up 6 heifers and headed off to UA at Stirling . It was an interesting drive up the M9 with the wind and a jumbly load of cattle . Felt more like sailing a ship at times. Still , got there in one piece and it only took 75 minutes .
It was a fairly big sale with about 1200 on the catalogue . The trade however wasn’t very impressive. The same type of heifers as the same time last year averaged 24p/kg or £133 less. Or put another way my trailer load of 6 came to £800 less. The gap between costs and sales is getting ever bigger. Who knows what will happen after 29th March !
Back home , finished feeding up then nipped off to a meeting at a local machinery dealership promoting their fertiliser spreaders. Think I may have nodded off at one point, but managed to fill up on sandwiches and coffee for my tea. Times are hard you know !
