Diary of an Edinburgher

Splashing about twice today!

Swimming today at 8.30am. In the morning. 20 lengths. Or might have been 22 - I lost count. Not too busy, which is always much more fun easier to stop whenever you want eg. in the middle of a length. Although I hate people in the Slow Lane who should be in the Fast Lane. I'm in the Slow Lane. There aren't many people slower than me.

Popped up to get a parcel at the depot, as a card had been left yesterday. Maybe the postie was too scared to ring the bell in case I jumped out on him again... Anyway, today at the depot there were posters all over the place about having suitable ID in order to pick up the parcel. There was always a notice, but today there were about 10 of them, with ID NEEDED underlined twice in red.

I did not have ID. I don't need my bus pass at the pool. However, the girl cheerfully took my card, and gave me my parcel. No worries.

Decided to have a day inside, as I will be galavanting about later. Having long admired blippers' water drops and splishy splashy shots, I started fiddling about with bowls of water in the sink, dropping blueberries, cherry tomatoes and oranges into water (though not all at once) and trying to take photos of the splash. Who would think you could have so much fun in a kitchen! I won't tell you how many I took, and how many I deleted because I'd missed the splash completely. LOL!

I kept going back and doing more, while it was all set up. It's amazing how a morning can go and you've accomplished not much.

I got a letter from the Chairman of Scottish Rugby re the booing at the All Black match last month. He is concerned about it creeping in, and after that match they increased the frequency of the announcements asking that people respect all players. It seems the next match was much better.

So the Murrayfield crowd just got to boo the IRB Player of the Year!

A friend had booked a 'Half Day Portrait Workshop' and then realised she couldn't go. Did I want a half day session with professionals, bring my own camera and tripod? Did I? Yes of course! 8.30 till 11 o'clock. Excellent.

Only I didn't realise until yesterday that it's actually at 8.30PM!! 8.30PM is not DAY. By 8.30pm I'm beginning to think about BED! Still, it should be interesting. And I will not look a gift horse in the mouth. Even at that time!

Right. Off to tidy up the slight mess in the kitchen...
